ADAPTING TO CHANGE
During the pandemic, Xico team has been adopting new work methods. From September to December 2020, activities such as the celebration of DÍA DE MUERTOS and the CALAVEREARTE exhibition were moved online. Also, Xico team has been working on delivering COVID relief packages to vulnerable families in the community.
DÍA DE MUERTOS (DAY OF THE DEAD)
Affected by the pandemic, we celebrate DÍA DE MUERTOS (DAY OF THE DEAD) online this year. We held an online exhibition “CALAVEREARTE“ and invited the general public to participate in.
We also make special videos for this occasion on our Youtube channel.
DISTRIBUTING COVID RELIEF PACKAGES
Xico team began to distribute COVID relief food packages to the vulnerable population in the community. The relief packages had reached 59 families who are the most in need.
BALLET WORKSHOPS
Our ballet workshops for children are able to continue with good hygiene management and practices.
SON DEL PUEBLO
We also continue working with the Brazilian artist Maria Thereza Alves on the art program "Son del Pueblo". The program involves people in general from all over the world to make a sculpture, replicating archaeological pieces of the Xico Arte Y Cultura Museum.
