Dandelion students perform in the Hefeng Charity Concert
The Hefeng Art Foundation (Hefeng) held a charity concert in Beijing on the 31st of May 2021. The concert aims to raise awareness of equal access to art and cultural activities for children in remote rural regions in mainland China. 180 children from rural areas in 11 provinces were invited to attend the concert. The Dandelion School choir and band were also invited. They attended the concert and gave impressive performances.
Opening drum performance
In the opening act, Zhang Diandian, a student from Dandelion School, impressed everyone with her drum performance.
“The Orchid”
The Orchid (Lan Hua Cao 兰花草, a well-known song for children in China) was performed by Dandelion School Choir. The students worked with Fang Jin Long, a famous musician of Chinese Traditional Music who plays “Chi Ba“ ( 尺八 a traditional Chinese music instrument), delivering a unique performance.
“Jingle Bells” and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star“
Dandelion School Band joined the orchestra, played “Jingle Bells” and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star“. The “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star“ featured a singing performance by children from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Dandelion School
Dandelion school is the first and only government-approved charitable, non-profit middle school in Beijing providing equal access to quality education for children in Beijing from low-income migrant families. KONE Centennial Foundation has supported the school since 2011.
Hefeng Foundation
Beijing Hefeng Art Foundation (Hefeng) was founded on May 7, 2013 and is registered as a private foundation. With the mission of art education, art popularization, and art promotion, Hefeng is keen to raise public awareness of the importance of art. The Hefeng Foundation has spnsored a range of art activities at the Dandelion School since 2015, including the school choir and band.
