Matching Funds Available!
Many of you have wanted to do something to help those less fortunate during the global Covid-19 crisis but may have felt a bit overwhelmed by the size of the problem. To encourage KONE employees to get together to make a difference, the Kone Centennial Foundation (KCF) has set up matching funds to double the impact of your charitable giving to local projects serving children and youth in need. Here’s how it works:
If three or more KONE employees get together to contribute to a program serving needy youngsters (it does not have to be specifically targeted at COVID relief), KCF will match the contribution (1:1) up to 3,000 € (approximately US $3,600 at current exchange rates) until the global allocation for the year has been exhausted.
Contributions will be made on a first come, first served basis so long as the following conditions have been met:
projects are consistent with KCF’s mission: helping children and youth in need
priority will be given to local initiatives which help children and youth in their local communities (rather than global fund-raising initiatives by big international NGOs)
the minimum amount considered for a matching grant: 500 euros
priority will be given to collective contributions by groups of employees, but individual contributions may be considered if all the matching funds have not been allocated to groups
donations by KONE company units are not eligible for matching funds (only self-motivated groups of employees are eligible)
each case will be considered separately by KCF, and matching is not automatic
